The Day I met and photographed Priscilla Presley by Jenny Potter.
I have always been a huge Elvis & Priscilla Fan and think back to the days where my mum would be singing along to Elvis on the radio whilst she was going about cooking and cleaning. I also remember watching all of his films. The day Elvis died I remember so well. My mum has some beautiful black and white photos of Elvis as she so admired his music.
Fast forward to October 2016 and I had just been reading about the Elvis hotel that had been built and opened and I think I retweeted the details. Then within an hour I get a phone call asking if I could do the "Meet & Greet" for Priscilla Presley in Cardiff on 20th November 2016
Of course I could I sent the company my rates and they agreed and I was given details of the date with extra details being sent nearer the time.
The meet and Greet was to be done after the Elvis show from 10.30 pm onwards and I was to go back stage straight after the show. I stayed calm and professional as it is my job so you can't jump up and down and be like a fan you just do your job like I have done many a time when meeting muscians, actors etc.
I do not want to disclose too much detail of the event as I am professional and the "Meet & Greet" is a private and personal experience for all of Elvis and Priscilla fans. I know that I was honoured to meet and work for Priscilla who is such an amazing, inspirational, down to earth and humble person who has an incredible gift with her and Elvis fans. Thank you to everyone I met on this night and for the amazing memories. All of the fans at the meet and greet were given photo downloads of all photos that I took as part of my meet and greet hire price. These photos I did as soon as I got home so that they had them before the next morning.
I still keep in touch with the fans at the meet & greet. Love thinking back to this night.
